On Saturday, May 18th, 2019 the Dear Dad Tour made its first stop at the Middletown Kid’s Health & Safety Day. Event goers stopped to share their father stories and enjoyed the beautiful weather while learning how to create a safer community.
We were very pleased with the turnout of the first Dear Dad Tour location in Middletown as we saw many smiles, heard great stories, and saw a familiar face in Green Bay Packers Quarterback Tim Boyle! Boyle was enthusiastic about sharing his father story with us and thought highly of the Connecticut Fatherhood Initiative’s booth idea. Also in attendance was Middletown policeman Paul Maturo who shared a great story with us on how he grew up in his family’s restaurant business, learned customer service skills, and transferred those skills to his profession as a police officer thanks to his father. Other fatherhood stories proudly came from families, folks of different ages, and others from different walks of life.
We look forward to hearing the rest of Connecticut’s fatherhood stories leading up to Father’s. We encourage everyone to come by one of our tour stops and share your fathers’ story. All stories are welcomed, your heartfelt story could help others and in turn promote the Connecticut Fatherhood Initiative.
